|Indiana makes a return appearance as the number one team in men's basketball, according to the AP Poll, replacing Michigan who drops to #3.
Indiana takes back the number one ranking following a week in which they first got a victory at Purdue, 97-60. After that came an upset win at home against then-1st ranked Michigan, 81-73. Michigan gives up number one with a win against Northwestern, 68-46 and a loss to then-3rd ranked Indiana. Georgetown breaks into the Top 25 at #20 with a win at home over Seton Hall, 74-52 and a win at home over St. John's, 68-56. Oklahoma State comes in at #22 with wins against then-2nd ranked Kansas, 85-80 and Iowa State, 78-76. Pittsburgh shows up at #23 with a win against then-6th ranked Syracuse, 65-55 and a loss to then-12th ranked Louisville, 64-61. Notre Dame also enters the Top 25 at #25. Wichita State falls out of the rankings this week with an upset loss at home to Indiana State, 68-55 and an upset loss at Northern Iowa, 57-52. Ole Miss drops out after losses to then-4th ranked Florida, 78-64 and Kentucky, 87-74. NC State drops out after losses to then-14th ranked Miami (FL), 79-78 and Virginia, 58-55. San Diego State also drops out this week.
